What goes wrong most often, what it actually means, and how to fix it. Most of these are explained by the server console: read it from the moment the resource starts, and turn Config.Debug on while you investigate.
Installation and Access#
The resource does not start: "Could not find dependency"
The manifest requires ox_lib, bob74_ipl, VehicleDeformation and screenshot-basic, OneSync, game build 2802 or newer and server artifact 5895 or newer. Install whichever one the message names and make sure it is ensured before qs-advancedgarages.
The console closes: "qs-advancedgarages changed its name"
The folder was renamed. Name it qs-advancedgarages again; exports, the interface and other scripts depend on that exact name.
"You do not have permission" on /garagecreator
You need to be a framework admin (ESX admin / superadmin, QBCore god / admin), or hold a job and grade listed in Config.CreatorJobs.
Importing esx.sql fails with "Duplicate column name 'hash'"
Your owned_vehicles table already has that column. Skip that line and import the rest of the file. Read The Database before importing on a server that already has players' cars.
Keys, fuel or the stash do nothing
That resource starts after the garages, so it was not detected, or it is not on the supported list. Move its ensure line above qs-advancedgarages and restart the server. With no fuel script detected the console says You did not configure your fuel system and cars come out full. For an unlisted resource, see Adding a Backend.
The console is full of DEBUG lines
Config.Debug ships as true. Set it to false in config/config.lua on a live server.
Garages and Vehicles#
The default garages are missing
Look for queries of sql/default_garages.sql failed in the console: the import is retried on every start until it succeeds, usually after a database permission or column problem is fixed. If they were imported once and deleted since, run importdefaultgarages in the server console.
/dv does not remove cars, or they come back
Correct behaviour with Config.PersistentVehicles: owned cars are respawned where they were left. Use /mdv for the nearest car or /mdvall for every empty one; both send them to the impound so the owner can collect them.
A car cannot be stored
It is not yours: only registered, owned cars can be stored. Admins register one with
/addcar.You are not the driver.
Wrong garage type: boats go to piers, helicopters and planes to hangars.
The garage is full: an interior holds as many cars as it has spots, an MLO garage as many as its bays.
Not enough money for the garage's storage fee.
Impounded or lost cars go nowhere: "No impound for type"
Every vehicle type that can be lost needs at least one impound: one for cars, one for boats and one for aircraft. The defaults provide all three; if you deleted one, create an impound of that type in the creator. A warning naming Config.DefaultImpounds means the name you set there is not an impound of that type, so the nearest one is used instead.
After updating, players' cars are missing from a garage
They were stored in a garage from the old config/garages.lua, which 5.1 no longer reads. Recreate that garage in the creator under the same name and the cars appear again, or run migratev5 to move them to the impound. See Upgrading to 5.1.
There is no [G] to enter the garage
Impounds, piers and MLO garages have no interior. For other garages, check Allow enter shell / interior in the creator, and Config.EnablePublicInteriors for public garages.
"Shell not found" when entering a shell garage
The shell model is not streamed. Ensure the resource that contains it (for example the [shells] folder from the download) and check the model name in Config.Shells.
The garage menu camera looks away from the car
On versions before 5.1.58 the default garages could open with the camera facing the wrong way. Update the resource. For a garage with a custom shot, open it in the creator and use Edit in studio to rebuild it, or Use default for the shared showroom camera.
MLO Garages#
No bays are drawn and cars are not parked inside
A garage works as an MLO garage only when it is a vehicle garage, not an impound, with Interior Type MLO and at least one saved bay. Draw the zone first, then place the bays, then save the garage.
A bay cannot be placed
It turns red when it is outside the zone, closer than MinSlotDistance to another bay, or not on a floor (a wall or a steep ramp). R needs two bays placed first, to know the spacing.
"Stored without a slot"
There were more cars in that garage than bays. The car is safely stored but not shown in the car park; add bays, or take another car out.
Furniture and Insurance#
/garagedecorate says the garage does not support decoration
Only private garages can be decorated, by their owner, from inside. Somebody else may already be decorating it: one person at a time.
Furniture pictures are not uploaded: "FiveManage token is not set"
Paste your FiveManage token in config/fivemanage.lua and restart. The screenshot itself needs screenshot-basic running. Keep the token private: anyone with it can upload to your account.
Every car's insurance is priced as a $50,000 car
Its price was not found. Prices are read from qbx_core, QBCore shared vehicles or the ESX vehicles table; addon cars missing there, or another vehicle shop, need GetInsuranceVehicleValue in server/custom/insurance.lua. The fallback is Config.Insurance.DefaultVehicleValue.
A policy expired although auto renew was on
Renewal happens while the owner is online and can pay from Config.Insurance.MoneyType. Without the money, auto renew switches itself off and the owner is told.
A claim is cancelled: "vehicle not in impound"
The car was collected from the impound, or sold, before the claim was filed. Claims are for destroyed cars that are still waiting at the impound.
Still stuck? Open a ticket and include the server console from the moment
qs-advancedgaragesstarts, withConfig.Debugon, your framework and the version infxmanifest.lua.
