How Integrations Work#
Downtown Mechanic does not know which framework, job or inventory you run, and does not need to: nothing in it calls another resource. It streams a building, and shares one command and two events. That is why it behaves the same on every server.
Layer | Works with | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Framework | ESX · QBCore · Qbox · ox_core · ND_Core · none | Never read. Nothing to configure. |
Mechanic job | Any | The map has no job logic. Point your job's zones at the workshop — see below. |
Database | None | The active layer lives in |
Permissions | FiveM ACE |
|
Chat |
| Only for the usage hint after a mistyped command. Without it, the hint is simply not shown. |
Mechanic Jobs#
Whatever runs your mechanics — Mechanic Creator or any other job script — gives it a home by placing its points inside the workshop. These are the spots worth using, taken from the map itself:
Spot | Coordinates | Good for |
|---|---|---|
Bay 1 — lift |
| Repair, tuning or inspection zone. |
Bay 2 — lift |
| Repair, tuning or inspection zone. |
Bay 3 — lift |
| Repair, tuning or inspection zone. |
Office desks |
| Duty toggle, boss menu, invoices. |
Lounge |
| Customer waiting area, a sit-down spot. |
Tool chest |
| Stash, parts shop or crafting bench. |
Tool drawer |
| A second stash or the toolbox. |
Wheel balancers |
| Tyre and wheel jobs. |
Roller doors |
| Where bays 1, 2 and 3 open — reference for vehicle drop-off points. |
The floor sits at z ≈ 28.3. Add about 1.0 if your script expects a standing player's position rather than a point on the floor, and fine-tune each point in game with the coordinate tool you already use.
Scripted and Scheduled Events#
Your own resources can open the meet for you — a weekly car show, an event manager, a reward for a job milestone — with the same command an admin types:
-- server side, in your own resource
ExecuteCommand('mechanicmap 2')The layer is saved and synced exactly as if an admin had typed it. The resource needs its own ACE, and a client script can react the moment a layer opens — both are covered in Commands and Exports, with a ready-made weekly schedule.
Other Maps Nearby#
To sit flush in the street, Downtown Mechanic replaces part of the original city block it is built in. These are the original game files it ships its own versions of:
File | What it is |
|---|---|
| The original building model. |
| Its detail model. |
| The block's collisions, standard and high detail. |
| The distant versions of the block, seen from across the city. |
Search the stream folders of your other maps for any of these names. Two resources cannot both replace the same file: the one started last wins, and the loser ends up with walls it cannot see, a floor it falls through, or the wrong building from far away. Keep one, remove the other.
Every other file in the map is new — prefixed
qs_or namedcustom_garage_door— and cannot collide with a vanilla asset, only with another copy of this map.
