What goes wrong most often, what it actually means, and what to do about it. For anything not listed here, set Config.Debug = true, restart the resource and read the server and F8 consoles — every load, sync and refusal is logged.
Installation and Access#
The console closes saying qs-fuelstations changed its name
The resource folder was renamed. It must be called exactly qs-fuelstations — rename it back and update the ensure line.
There are no stations, or the console says "Could not read `fuel_stations`"
The SQL was not imported, or was imported into a different database from the one in your mysql_connection_string. Import sql/database.sql into the right one and restart. A "No stations in `fuel_stations`" warning means the table exists but is empty — import the seed, or place stations with /fuelcreator.
"You are not allowed to use the fuel creator"
The player has none of the permissions in Config.Creator.aces and is not a framework admin. Add add_ace identifier.license:… fuelstations.creator allow to server.cfg and restart the server so the line is read. On vRPex, ACE is the only route.
The pump screen or the creator never appears
The interface ships ready to use in web/build. If that folder is missing or incomplete — often after an FTP upload that skipped files — download the resource again from the CFX Portal and replace the folder. Open F8 and look for an error that names a missing file.
I changed prices or consumption in config.lua and nothing happened
Correct behaviour. Config.FuelPrices, Config.Economy, Config.ElectricModels and Config.VehicleFuelTypes only seed an empty fuel_settings table. Change them in /fuelcreator → Economy instead.
"Locale xx is missing key …" warnings
The chosen translation lacks a line that English has. The script uses the English line meanwhile, so nothing breaks. Add the key to your locale file to silence it.
Pumps and Refuelling#
Nothing happens at a pump
A pump only works when it belongs to a station. Check, in order:
The pump is inside a station's radius. Open the creator, select the nearest station and raise its radius, or create a station there.
That station sells the right kind: a fuel pump needs a station selling petrol or diesel, a charger one selling electric.
The prop's model is in
Config.PumpModels. Custom map pumps must be added there. With
Config.UseTarget = truethere is no[E]prompt — use the target eye.
Chargers are invisible, or "Pump model electric_charger … could not be loaded"
The charger models are not streamed. Add ensure fuelstations-props to server.cfg before qs-fuelstations, and make sure the folder was uploaded with its stream/ files.
"Your vehicle does not take this grade"
The vehicle is registered for another grade. Every model not listed runs on petrol, so an addon EV or diesel truck must be added in /fuelcreator → Economy → Vehicles by its spawn name, with the right grade.
The station is empty
Its stock reached 0%. A delivery driver refills it, or an admin can set Fuel in stock back to 100 in the creator. If stations empty too fast, raise Config.DivideStationLevel; to turn stock off entirely, set Config.EveryStationHasFuelLevel = false.
The nozzle attaches in the wrong place on a vehicle
That model has no petroltank bone, so the filler cap was guessed from the rear wheels. Add the model to Config.CustomOffsets with a left and a right point, relative to the vehicle's centre:
Config.CustomOffsets = {
['mycar'] = { vec3(-0.9, -1.6, 0.4), vec3(0.9, -1.6, 0.4) },
}"The hose broke"
The player walked further than Config.CableMaxLength (7 m) from the pump. Park closer, or raise the value. With Config.AddExplosion = true, tearing the hose also causes an explosion at the pump.
The player was charged less than the total
The account they chose could not cover the bill, so what was in it was taken. Leave only bank enabled in Config.FuelPaymentMethods if you want card-only stations.
Consumption and Prices#
Fuel drains too fast, or too slowly
Open Economy → Consumption Model and start from a preset: Casual, Balanced or Hardcore. The readouts show how long a tank lasts parked, cruising and flat out. For a single class or model, use Vehicle Classes or Vehicles instead. Switching the model off hands drain back to GTA.
Fuel jumps up and down, or resets
Another script is also setting the tank — usually a second fuel script or a garage that restores an old value. Remove other fuel resources, and make garages save and restore fuel through GetFuel / SetFuel (see Integrations).
Prices never move
Config.PriceMode is 'static', or the grade's volatility in Config.Market.types is 0. The market moves every tickMinutes (30) by small steps; run fuelmarket tick in the console to see it move now.
The Delivery Job#
There is no foreman or Fuel Delivery blip
Config.EnableJob is false. If it is true, check the console for "Job ped … could not be loaded" — Config.PedType must be a valid ped model.
"Every station is full right now"
Config.JobRespectStock is true and every station is at 100%. Wait for players to buy fuel, or set it to false to always offer work.
The truck or tanker does not spawn
The console says "Job vehicle … is not a vehicle model on this server": Config.TruckToSpawn or Config.TrailerToSpawn names a model that is not streamed. Also make sure the spawn points are clear of other vehicles.
The driver cannot start the job truck
Your key system was not detected, so no keys were given. Make sure it starts before qs-fuelstations, or set Config.Vehiclekeys by hand.
A delivery was not counted
The server only accepts a delivery made within 75 m of the station's delivery point, and not twice in quick succession. If a station's delivery point is far from where the marker appears, set it again in the creator under Placement → Delivery point.
The deposit was not returned
Correct behaviour. The deposit is the price of the contract; the salary is paid per station delivered. Lower Config.TruckPrice and Config.TankPrice if it feels too steep.
