Chess puts real chess tables into your FiveM world. A player walks up to a table, presses E, and sits down in front of a physical board: the camera drops over the pieces, every move is a drag and drop with the mouse, and the opponent across the table is either another player or a seated AI that thinks before it moves. Matches have a turn clock, a scoreboard, a result screen and, between players, an optional bet where the winner takes the pot.
Everything is decided on the server. The full rules of chess — castling, en passant, promotion, check, checkmate, stalemate, the fifty-move rule and insufficient material — are enforced by the server, the AI runs there too, and anybody standing near a table watches the match live. Tables are placed in game with the creator and saved to the database, written into the config, or picked up automatically from any map that uses the chess table prop.

What it does#
Area | Details |
|---|---|
Tables | A custom table, two chairs and 32 individually modelled pieces, streamed with the resource. Players sit down with a fade-in and stand up beside the chair when the match ends. |
Playing | A top-down camera with zoom, drag and drop with the mouse, a coloured grid of legal moves and captures, pieces that slide into place, captured pieces lined up beside the board, and sounds for every move. |
Rules | Complete and server-checked: castling, en passant, promotion, check, checkmate, stalemate, the fifty-move rule and insufficient material, plus a turn clock, resignation and agreed draws. |
Player vs AI | Three difficulties — Easy, Medium and Hard — played by a seated ped across the table, with a thinking delay so it feels like an opponent rather than an engine. |
Player vs Player | Challenge anybody near the table from a list, with an optional bet. Both stake the same amount, the winner takes the pot and a draw refunds it. |
Creator | Place, rename, move, price and delete tables in game. Each table can charge an entry fee in cash or from the bank. Teleport to any table from the list. |
Spectators | Everyone near a table sees the same pieces move at the same time, including players who arrive halfway through a match. |
Frameworks | ESX, QBCore and Qbox detected on their own, or standalone. Optional |
Languages | 41 complete translations, from Arabic to Chinese, for both the notifications and the interface. |
Running your own economy? Entry fees and bets can be paid in a VIP coin, casino chips or anything else you keep, by defining three small functions in the config. See Integrations.
