The Config File#
Everything you can change lives in config.lua at the root of the resource. It controls the elevator only — the map itself needs no configuration. Restart the resource after saving a change.
Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 10.0 | Within this many metres of an elevator the script starts checking every frame. Further away it checks once a second, so it costs nothing. |
| 1.5 | How close the player must be to see the prompt and press E. |
|
| Text placed before the elevator title in the prompt. |
| Royale elevator | The list of elevators and their floors. See below. |
Elevators and Floors#
Each entry in Config.Buildings is one elevator. This is the one that ships with the map:
Config.Buildings = {
{
id = 'royale_restaurant',
title = 'Royale Restaurant Elevator',
floors = {
{
label = 'Floor 1',
interact = vec3(268.325287, -742.523071, 34.688599),
teleport = vec4(269.551636, -741.837341, 34.688599, 158.740158)
},
{
label = 'Floor 2',
interact = vec3(268.325287, -742.523071, 40.602905),
teleport = vec4(269.551636, -741.771423, 40.602905, 155.905502)
},
{
label = 'Roof',
interact = vec3(268.325287, -742.523071, 45.708374),
teleport = vec4(269.353851, -741.942871, 45.708374, 161.574799)
}
}
},
}Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| A unique name for the elevator. Give every elevator a different one. |
| Shown in the prompt and as the menu header. Defaults to |
| The floor name in the menu, e.g. |
|
|
|
|
The floors appear in the menu in the order you list them. You can add as many as you want, and an elevator needs at least two to have anywhere to go.
Renaming the Floors#
To show clearer names or translate the menu, change title and each label. For example, in Spanish:
Config.DrawTextPrefix = '[E] - '
-- inside the royale_restaurant entry
title = 'Ascensor Royale',
-- floors
label = 'Restaurante',
label = 'Discoteca',
label = 'Helipuerto',Adding Another Elevator#
The elevator is not tied to this map. You can add lifts to any other building on your server by adding another entry to the list. config.lua ships with a commented example you can copy:
Collect the positions
On each floor, stand where players should press E and note the coordinates. Then stand where they should arrive, facing the right way, and note the coordinates and heading.
Add the entry
lua Config.Buildings = { { id = 'royale_restaurant', -- ... }, { id = 'secondary_building', title = 'Secondary Building Elevator', floors = { { label = 'Ground Floor', interact = vec3(-1190.0, -900.0, 13.0), teleport = vec4(-1190.0, -900.0, 13.0, 90.0) }, { label = 'Upper Floor', interact = vec3(-1190.0, -900.0, 16.5), teleport = vec4(-1190.0, -900.0, 16.5, 90.0) } } } }Restart and test
Run
ensure qs_royale_restaurantin the server console, walk to the new point and press E.
Put the arrival point a little in front of the lift doors, not on top of the interaction point. Otherwise players land right back on the prompt.
