Trading Cards 2.0 keeps the resource name (qs-tradingcards), the item names and the album table, so it installs over 1.x rather than beside it. What changes is where things live: the catalogue moves from config files into the database and the in-game creator, and grading moves from an item to an NPC.
What Carries Over#
What | In 2.0 |
|---|---|
Albums | Kept. |
Cards players own | Kept. Every card carries its own data as metadata, and 2.0 reads the old field names too, so cards pulled under 1.x open, show and store like new ones. |
Card, pack and album items | Same names: |
Card artwork as the item icon | Fixed. Older cards stored the artwork where inventories look for the icon, so some showed a broken image. When such a card goes through the album or the grader it is rewritten to keep the normal item icon. |

Updating Step by Step#
Back up the database
Export at least
qs_tradingcard_stashes. 2.0 never drops it, but a backup costs nothing.Replace the resource
Stop the server, delete the old
qs-tradingcardsfolder and copy in the new one, plustradingcards_propsif you did not already have it. Do not keep a renamed copy of the old folder in your resources — the script refuses to run under any other name.Replace the item definitions
Swap your 1.x item blocks for the ones in
[items](see Installation). The 1.xox_inventoryblocks pointed the items at exports —openPsano longer exists, and the others are not needed any more.Remove the PSA item
Delete
tradingcard_psafrom your inventory's item list and its icon. Nothing in 2.0 uses it, so any left in inventories do nothing.Import the starter cards
Start the server once so the tables are created, then import
database/sql.sqlfor the 82 starter cards and the built-in themes — or skip it and build your own catalogue in the creator.Place your NPCs
Open
/cardcreator→ Peds and place a shop, and a grader and trader if you want them. A fresh 2.0 server has no NPCs until you do.
Players do not lose anything they hold. A card or album item that was in an inventory before the update is still there, and still works, afterwards.
