Sit Everywhere 2 is a rebuild, not a patch: a seat solver that calculates where the ped goes, a new animation picker, preset seats, an in-game settings panel and a database table. It keeps every command, key binding and event your server and your players already use, so the move is mostly a folder swap — plus a few minutes in /sitconfig to put your values back.
It also replaces the free sit resource. Its hand-placed seats now ship inside Sit Everywhere, value for value, so the two must not run together.
What Changes#
Settings moved into the game. The 1.x
config.luais not read any more. Distances, keys, how the ped is posed, placement limits and command names are now fields in/sitconfig, saved in the database.config/config.luaonly detects the framework and the third eye.The seat is calculated for you. "Sit here" reads the prop's model, finds the seat surface and puts the ped on it. The old aim-and-nudge placement is still there as Place & adjust, and can be switched off.
Taken seats are really taken. The server reserves every seat point; in 1.x a seat was never reported as occupied, so two players could sit inside each other.
The ground is the ground you stand on. Sitting on a porch, a driveway slab or a raised walkway now lands on that surface rather than on the terrain under it.
Key hints come from the game. The change-pose and stand-up keys are drawn on the game's own button bar from each player's bindings, instead of a translated text box that went wrong as soon as a key was changed.
Hand-placed seats are built in. 704 props and 62 interiors and MLOs from the
sitresource, each map with its own switch.Every prop still works. The chair, bench, sofa and bed lists were kept whole: every model 1.x made interactable still is, and new ones were added.
What Carries Over#
What | In version 2 |
|---|---|
| Still registered, as aliases of |
The Stand up key binding | Same internal name, |
| Still open the picker on a prop. |
| Still reserve, release and check a seat on the server — and now they actually work. |
Third-eye resources |
|
What does not carry over: the values in your old config.lua, and any edits you made to 1.x's own files. Note your values down before deleting the folder, then set them again in the panel.
Updating, Step by Step#
Keep a copy of the old folder
Move the 1.x folder somewhere outside
resources/— your desktop is fine. You only need it to read your old values back.Remove the old resources
Stop the server. Delete the 1.x folder from
resources/, and thesitresource too if you run it. Remove itsensure sitline fromserver.cfg.Install version 2
Follow Installation: drop in
qs-siteverywhere, keep a singleensure qs-siteverywhereafter your framework and third eye, and grant yourselfcommand.sitconfig.Put your values back
Start the server and open
/sitconfig. Distances, keys and command names live under Interaction, Sitting, Manual placement and Commands; there is a search box at the top that finds a setting across every section.Switch on your maps
Under Preset locations, turn on every MLO your server has installed, then restart the resource. A location switched on without its map leaves seats floating in the air.
Coming From the sit Resource#
Every seat the sit resource shipped is inside Sit Everywhere now, carried over value for value — the same props, the same offsets, the same scenarios.
What | Where it lives now |
|---|---|
Props with hand-placed seats | Preset seats → Preset props, on by default. 704 props. |
Interiors and MLOs | Preset locations, one switch per map — 61 switches for 62 places, as both Gabz fire stations share one. |
Locations on by default | The same ones |
How seats are offered | Preset seats → Interaction: third eye, floating text, both, or automatic. |
Teleporting on and off a seat | Preset seats → Always teleport in, Always teleport out and Teleport back when unreachable, on top of the seats that always teleport by their own data. |
On top of that, the same props get the animation picker: with a third eye running, a prop that has a preset seat shows Sit down (the hand-placed seat, one press) and Choose pose (the picker), so players get both.
