What goes wrong most often, what it actually means, and what to do about it. Most of these are configuration, not faults — and the script ships console commands that say exactly which gate shut. Run the one that matches before opening a ticket.
Installation and Access#
The interface is a blank page, or does not open
The interface ships compiled in web/build/. If that folder is missing or half-copied the page is blank with no error in game — re-copy the whole resource. If F6 does nothing, another resource has the key: rebind it in the game's Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM, or change Config.Keybind.
"You do not have permission" on /qsdealershipadmin
Run qs-dealership:checkadmin <id> in the server console. Nine times out of ten the ace is in server.cfg but the resource was not restarted after adding it, or the identifier belongs to a different account from the one in game.
The boot summary says vanilla for something I have
That resource starts after Dealership Creator, and detection only sees what is already running. Move its ensure above ensure qs-dealership, or pin it by hand in config/shared/config.lua.
I edited defaults.lua and nothing changed
This is correct behaviour. server/modules/main/defaults.lua only seeds the settings of a brand-new server. After the first start the settings live in the database — change them in the creator's Settings pages.
The player is stuck with a cursor and cannot close anything
The resource was restarted while a window was open and the restart was interrupted. /qsdealership again closes it.
Dealerships and the Showroom#
The counter prompt does not appear
Run qs-dealership:browsecheck <id> — it names the gate. The usual causes: the dealership has no stock (a showroom with nothing to sell refuses to open on purpose — add a vehicle from F6 → My dealerships → Stock), it is shut by its opening hours, or the target resource started after this one. A ped or prop counter on a target resource that cannot target entities falls back to a marker. qs-dealership:counters in the F8 console shows what your client believes about every counter.
"You are too far away"
The showroom moves the customer beside the display car, which may be a room under the map. The script accepts a player near the counter or near any place the dealership shows cars. If you moved the preview spot while somebody was inside, they need to leave and come back.
A car cannot be bought
Either it has no price (the catalogue row says 0 and the shop set none), it is not sold in that currency (the currency strip on the row has it off, or a coin has no figure), the currency is not enabled in Settings → Payments, or the player hits the reserve — they have the money but would be left below the minimum.
A car is missing from the catalogue or a dealership
Press Import from game from a client that has every addon installed — it reads what your client can spawn. A car switched off in the catalogue, blacklisted, or of a type the dealership does not deal in is hidden from that dealership on purpose.
Nobody can get into the display cars
Correct behaviour. Display cars are the shop window: locked, frozen and solid. Pressing one opens the showroom on it.
Owned Dealerships and Restock Runs#
Staff cannot see or do something in their shop
Run qs-dealership:checkstore <id> <dealership>. It lists which of the nine rights that player holds there and why. Ranks are per shop: a rank at one dealership says nothing about another.
There is no restock run to accept
Settings → Restock runs → Enabled is off, so orders land in stock directly. That is a feature, not a fault.
The order was refused, or the run never appears
The shop's till could not pay for the order — every unit is paid up front — or no collection point accepts that kind of vehicle, or every point that does already has a shipment waiting. The Supply shelf says which on the car itself.
The staff cannot furnish the forecourt
The dealership has no grounds. A dealership with no outline cannot be furnished at all; an admin has to draw it on the creator's Points tab first. The furnisher also needs the Settings right.
Pictures and Music#
Vehicle pictures do not show
Open the F8 console in game and look for a 404: the address the script built is printed there. Check the folder, the file name (the model name, lowercase) and the extension in Settings → Vehicle images. Stock vehicles always fall back to the FiveM documentation's own shots.
The photo studio does nothing
It needs screenshot-basic running, and an upload provider in Settings → Vehicle images: a Fivemanage key, a custom address, or this server's own folder. With this server, restart the resource once the run finishes — new files are only served after a restart.
YouTube tracks are skipped
YouTube plays a video inside another program only when the video's owner allows it, and most record-label uploads do not. The player skips refused videos and falls back to direct audio. For music that must play, put files in the music/ folder and write just the file name.
Error Keys#
Callbacks and exports return locale keys rather than sentences, so the same failure reads in each player's own language. The ones you are most likely to meet:
Key | Means |
|---|---|
The script has not finished loading its settings and dealerships. Retry in a moment.
The player made too many requests of that kind in a minute. Raise it in Settings → Rate limits if it happens in normal play.
The player lacks the right — server-wide or in that shop.
The dealership id does not exist, or was deleted.
A placement fell outside the dealership's grounds.
The shop's till cannot cover a purchase of stock or furniture.
No collection point accepts that kind of vehicle.
The server did not answer in time. Usually a slow database.
Still stuck? Open a ticket and include your boot summary (the
[compat]lines), the output of the matching check command above, and your framework and its version. A screenshot of the F8 console helps for anything about the interface.
